The Australian cast of Heathers have been reunited as they prepare for their opening night at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) this weekend.

The cast and crew started rehearsals earlier this week in Brisbane as this highly anticipated show gears up for its season in the QPAC Playhouse.

Heathers has been creating buzz since its successfully sold out season at the Hayes Theatre in Sydney mid way through last year.

The cast stars Jaz Flowers (Hairspray, Hot Shoe Shuffle) in the leading of Veronica Sawyer, made famous in the film by Winona Ryder. Starring alongside her is Stephen Madsen (Rent), tackling the role of mysterious bad boy J.D.

For the Brisbane leg of the tour the role of Heather Chandler, previously played by Lucy Maunder, will be performed by Kirby Burgess (Dirty Dancing, Jerry’s Girls.)

Directed by Trevor Ashley (Les Misérables, Liza On An E), this dark musical comedy is sure to take the Brisbane theatre scene by storm.
