Opera in the Reservoir is the latest concert to be produced by the Underground Opera Company, and it certainly is not one that disappoints.

The Underground Opera Company (UOC) have made a unique name for themselves by performing in underground venues across Queensland for the past nine years. Due to the wonderful acoustics, incomparable voices and incredible venues, any performance of theirs is definitely one to remember.

This production of Opera in the Reservoir delivered a wide range of classics, ranging from Beethoven to Puccini and even crossing over into musical theatre numbers from Les Misérables and Candide.

Accompanied by renowned pianist Brendan Murtagh, the four vocalists displayed refined skills within their vocal technique and performances.

Ashleigh Maclaine, Louise Dorsman, Glenn Lormer and Darian Di Stefano-Johns were captivating in their solos, yet also worked together with ease in the numerous duets and quartets.

The charming emcee, Bruce Edwards, provided clarity to the songs and was warm and enthusiastic in his role. As producer and director of the Underground Opera Company, his passion for the work is contagious and I hope that everyone will support the UOC in their 10th anniversary productions next year.
