If raunchy reindeer, carnal carols, and a big long North Pole are on your wish list this year, Christmas is coming early! Don’t worry though — Santa never will.

Brought to you by Brisbane-based theatre company Understudy Productions, ‘A Very Naughty Christmas’ is sure to determine whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year, with an evening of jolly cabaret that might just have you sitting on Santa’s lap.

A Very Naughty Christmas was inspired by producer and co-creator Alex Woodward’s own tradition of hosting ‘Friends’ Christmas’.

“My friends and I would get together and all wear sexy Christmas outfits: somebody would be an elf; somebody would be a ‘Camp Santa’ or ‘Naughty Mrs. Claus.

“Santa would hand out the worst possible gifts he could find at a two dollar store and we would all bring food and wine to share. It was a great way to celebrate Christmas with our non- related family.”

Woodward, along with choreographer Dan Venz and cabaret performer Matthew Semple, have created a festive holiday cabaret show, poking fun at traditional cheesy Christmas concerts with a focus on cheeky fun, humour and a merry night out for audiences – regardless of their beliefs.

The cast, made up of some of Brisbane’s finest, includes Aurélie Roque, Claire Owen, Emily Vascotto, Monique Dawes, Ruby Clark, Adwan Dickson, Chris J Kellett, Jason Bently, Lachlan Geraghty and Stephen Hirst, with musical direction by award winning Tnee Western-Dyer.

A Very Naughty Christmas is sure to be a merry night out for all and will definitely get you in the holiday mood.

A Very Naughty Christmas plays at The Brisbane Powerhouse from the 7th through to the 16th of December.
